Literature Text

No matter how much I stick to my valiant efforts
I can't seem to quit our relationship of sorts.
Some days we're in love for ever, for forever,
Two hours later you say we're not really even together.

Our love, if that is even the right word
Is based off sarcastic lies--the mouth mightier than the sword.
Speaking insults to wound each other more
A competition--the meaner the words the higher the score.

Some days I don't understand why I fell in love
I mean, I know you would run if push came to shove.
It's all about you, might as well forget my dreaming ideals.
Some days I question if this love is really real.

I want to speak up, but my mouth is sewn shut everytime I try it.
I wish to scream we're finished but for some reason I stay quiet.
For some reason I love you, I can't give up on you.
There's a small part of my heart defending the boy I knew.

Back before all this drama when we were just two smiling souls,
We were stuck in a friendship that soon began to take on new roles.
Back when your voice was clear and your heart was on your sleeve.
When you smiled and the world stopped, and I was that niave.

For some reason I still want to believe in that good guy.
I guess that is the reason I just can't quite say goodbye.
I'm stuck on you, and I'll believe in you, no matter of the fights
I want it to be you who hears all my goodmornings and all my goodnights.
I'm stuck on you. And I won't ever budge. I love you with all my might.
Okay, this time it's actually finished.
